Custom Ketch Rig: A Showcase of Riggtech’s Expertise
This one-of-a-kind custom ketch yacht stands as a testament to the skill, precision, and dedication of the Riggtech team. A major undertaking from start to finish, we were responsible for designing, fabricating, and supplying the complete rigging package—including the mast, boom, spreaders, and every component essential for sailing. All work was proudly completed in-house at our facility.
The project began with raw mast sections—plain aluminium tubes delivered without fittings or features. From there, our team transformed them into fully functional spars. We precisely cut halyard slots, machined and fabricated aluminium sheave boxes, crafted a custom masthead, and turned each sheave on our lathe using Wearlon, a durable high-performance plastic. Spreader bands, spreaders, and numerous other structural components were also custom-built with expert care.
Before assembly, the masts, booms, and spreaders were professionally spray painted in our on-site retractable spray booth using premium marine-grade coatings to ensure a long-lasting, flawless finish.
We handled all standing and running rigging, expertly swaging wires to meet industry standards and splicing halyards with a variety of shackles and snap shackles for reliable performance. Our team also designed and installed the complete deck layout, carefully placing winches, clutches, and all running gear for optimal sailing efficiency and handling.
To complement the rig, we fabricated custom 316 stainless steel fittings tailored to the yacht’s unique design—each one polished to a mirror finish. Additionally, we installed a state-of-the-art Holmatro hydraulic furling boom and vang system, enhancing both performance and ease of handling.
