Australian Museum Glass Shutters

This project involved a full redesign and replacement of the glass shutter system in the foyer of the Australian Museum. The original system had failed due to misalignment issues in the ball joints located on either side of the glass panels, which were operated by actuators.

Our team removed the existing panels and engineered a completely new system from the ground up. We designed and fabricated all fittings in-house, eliminating the potential for misalignment. To ensure flawless functionality, we constructed a full-scale mock-up of the system in our factory and thoroughly tested the mechanism prior to installation.

The final installation was completed outside of museum opening hours to maintain public safety and minimise disruption. The new system continues to operate seamlessly and reliably to this day.
