How to Order:
- When ordering, please measure from the boom straight up the mast to the top block of the lazy jacks system. It will be attached to the mast or spreaders. This will give the “Max Height” bracket. The max height can be equal to but not greater than the max height dimension provided in our dropdown box options.
- Then count how many lazy jack lines attach to the boom or boom bag, thus giving you 3 or 4 “Boom Attachments”.
Please Note:
- Kits allow for customer’s to already have attachment points on the boom or sail bag. These can be attached to saddles on the boom or tied around battens on the boom bag.
- Kits also allow for the customer to already have a top block attached to the mast or spreaders and somewhere / something to cleat the lazy jacks on the mast near the deck.
- Lazy Jacks Kits are made to order, please allow 1-2 business days for the kits to be made.
- As these kits are made to order they are non-returnable and non-refundable, please be certain of measurements when ordering.
Installation:
- Mouse the old lazy jacks out of top block that is attached to the mast or spreaders with 3mm VB cord as a minimum size. (Pro tip: Always mouse from the cleat end of the line.)
- Remove all old lines from the boom attachments or boom bag. (Pro Tip: Do one side at a time, loosen one side off a little and let the boom-bag lean over into the opposite side you are installing. This will hold the sail and boom bag up and prevent it flip flopping to both side of the boom and will make it easier to access the attachment points.)
- Attach the mousing line to the mousing loop in the new line with a bow line and pull through top block and down to the deck.
- Tie a figure 8 knot in the tail end once it has passed through the cleat so it cant be lost up the mast.
- Attach the boom attachment lines so that they look like the corresponding kit image.
- Tension lazy jacks to take weight on the boom-bag and sail, then repeat the same process on the other side.
